About Liz’s Blog

From returned Peace Corps volunteer to M.D., this blog contains reflections and creative writing during my quest to become a physician.  I began my first blog as a Peace Corps Volunteer, and came to enjoy this process of intentional, public writing.  Despite a small audience and many obstacles of imperfection, including lacking time for my best writing, I blog for its value as a personal practice.

I dedicate this blog to: my husband Ben, my faithful medical editor dad (unfortunately automatic spell and grammer-checks do not suffice for medical topics) and those who have encouraged me to keep writing – mom, Talmo & Evie, Meriz, Anne and my classmates.

Please note all patient identifying information in this blog has been intentionally changed or omitted.  The details (including gender, illness, time frame and age)  have been modified, but the overall character of my experience in medical school remains true.
